CONCEPT:

I hate typing in the third person, but it makes it sound as though someone who isn't in the band has actually bothered typing out all this crap, making the reader think that the band is actually special. So here it goes...

A regular bit on Mike's radio show, "The Jim Show" was to cover various songs, or rewrite bad popular songs as acoustic songs. Around 2001, Mike decided to try and put a band together to cover a whole album live on the air. He also wanted to try to do it as accurately as possible. The album of choice was "Harvest" By Neil Young. The problem was that the album would require 3 separate band arrangements, and a bunch of musicians. Since I, I mean "he", couldn't picture all of his loser friends agreeing to play "Harvest", he picked a dfferent album: "Q: Are We Not Men? A: We are Devo!" by Devo! The idea made so much nonsense to his friends, they immediately jumped on board. After a few months of figuring out all the tunes and learning them, the band played a few songs acoustically on "The Jim Show". But, that wasn't the actual project anymore. The actual project was to play the whole album from start to finish electric in a local bar that weekend in the summer of 2002. It was pulled off with success, and the whole project ended up being more fun than it should have been.

Now it's the summer of 2003, and Mike and his friends have nothing better to do. So now, they are learning more Devo songs, talking about really weird stage concepts, planning a concert film, recording some songs, building weird instruments, making everything available for download, getting weird costumes, and hopefully playing a bunch of shows. How scary is that?
